Every year about 16,000 students apply to Williams College with 1,340 receiving their acceptance letters. With an acceptance rate of 9, 600 or 44% will decide to attend the college the following semester.

Students are invited to apply using either the Common Application, the Coalition Application, or the QuestBridge Application. They should include none, but none are also recommended. SAT scores should be in the 1,480 - 1,560 and ACT scores in the 34 - 35 range.

For students who are absolutely positive that Williams College will be their school of choice, Early Decision is a good option. Applications are due by November 15th with a decision made within a month. Students will have to reply by January 2nd. For regular decision students, an application is due by January 1st with a decision arriving by April 1st. All students must reply with intent by May 1st.

Williams College asks that applicants be leaders within their school and community. Although grades are important, they wish for creativity and diverse perspectives. They recommend that students complete four years of high school English, math, natural science, foreign language, and social studies, although it is not required.
