For students interested in applying to UVA, application packets should include none, but none are also recommended. Undergraduates must include a $75 application fee. The university requests that students take more rigorous classes during their high school years, but good grades remain important as well as extracurricular activities and community involvement. SAT Combined scores should be in the 1,420 - 1,540 range and ACT Composite scores in the 32 - 35 range.

Applications for non-binding early decision students are due by November 1st, with decisions made by the end of January. Regular decision applications are due on January 1st with answers at the end of March. All replies can be found online through the school’s portal and accepted students must reply by May 1st if they wish to attend in the fall.

Every year about 64,000 applications are submitted to UVA, with 10,100, or 16, receiving notice of acceptance. About 3,980, a 39% yield, will decide to attend the university the following semester.
