Award Amount: $500-$2,500 Description: Established by the Seattle Association of Black Journalists, the Scholarship fund will help students of color in the Puget Sound region who are pursuing college careers in journalism. The scholarship was established to honor Patricia Fisher, a Puget Sound native, journalist, educator and role model for her support of young people and her contributions to the community. Awards are based on scholastic achievement, financial need, community service and a serious interest in print, photo, broadcast journalism or multimedia/ online. Scholarships range from $500-$2,500. Eligibility: The scholarship program is open to students of color with a serious career interest in journalism on any platform: print, photo, broadcast or multimedia/online. Awards will be made based on scholastic achievement, financial need, and commitment to community service through journalism. To be eligible, you must be a high school senior or undergraduate living in Washington State
