National Association for Surface Refinishing (Graduate)
Description: NASF Scholarships are open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students majoring in subjects related to surface science. These include chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials science engineering, metallurgy, materials science and others. Selection is based on, but not limited to: career interest in surface finishing, scholarship, achievement, motivation and potential. Awards are not necessarily based on financial need. Eligibility: The scholarship award is available to both undergraduates and graduates. Undergraduate applicants must be junior standing or above when applying and must be of senior standing for that aca­demic year. Undergraduate and graduate students must be studying in mechanical engineering, material science or engineering, met­allurgical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or chemistry. The applicant must be attending an accredited college. There are no geographic limitations. Both national and interna­tional applicants are urged to apply. -Selection factors include achievement, scholarship potential, motivation and interest in the finishing technologies -Must be a full-time student during the academic year the scholarship is received -Financial need is not a factor -For an undergraduate applicant, GPA should be 3.0 or above; for a graduate applicant, GPA should be 3.3 or above.
