University of Mary Washington (out-of-state)

This award is given annually to a graduating student in the master of science in elementary education program who has been continuously enrolled at the University since her or his freshman year. The recipient shall be seeking a Virginia license with an elementary education endorsement and shall be committed to teaching in a public elementary school in Virginia. In addition, the recipient must be a student member of the Virginia Education Association of the National Education Association. Preference is given to students who have demonstrated positive qualities of campus leadership and to children of career active-duty military men or women. The average annual award budget is $1,000.
