The Carlos García UMC Director’s Scholarship is for continuing undergraduate and graduate students who are current employees in the Basic Needs Center, Center for Student Involvement, CU Book Store, CU Collegiate Recovery Community, Cultural Events Board, Distinguished Speakers Board, Environmental Center, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Ink Spot, Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations, Radio 1190, Starbucks, University Memorial Center or Volunteer Resource Center. Carlos García was a strong advocate for enhancing the student experience through student employment and skill development. Throughout his 18-year tenure as Executive Director and Director of the UMC, Carlos García led the creation of a student leadership program, expanded the CU NightRide program, created a marketing department, a student involvement and activities department, and a diversity training program. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must: -Be a current CU Boulder undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. -Be a current employee at the time of application in the Center for Student Involvement, CU Book Store, CU Collegiate Recovery Center, Cultural Events Board, Distinguished Speakers Board, Environmental Center, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Ink Spot, Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations, Radio 1190, Starbucks, UMC or Volunteer Resource Center (minimum employment of one semester). -Be enrolled in full time credits (12 for undergraduate, 5 for graduate) at the time that the application is due (Spring 2025). -Complete the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application. -Submit this application by the posted deadline.
