Scholarships within the college are awarded to provide financial support based on need, academic achievement, or other specific scholarship criteria as outlined below. The Barrie Hartman News-Editorial Scholarship is made possible by the Boulder Daily Camera, family and friends. Hartman was a longtime editor at the Camera. Students enrolled in the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information who are interested in pursuing a career in print media are encouraged to apply. Financial need is a consideration. A GPA of 3.0 or higher overall and 3.2 within the major is required. Letters of appreciation should be written to Mr. Barrie Hartman. Selection Criteria Applications are reviewed holistically, and selection criteria may include, but is not limited to, academic record, leadership experience, extracurricular involvement, community service, employment, essays, and in some cases, financial need as determined by the FAFSA/CASFA. Essays: Quality of writing and content are weighed heavily.
