The Paul H. Lane Perpetual Engineering Scholarship was established in 1988 to support a scholarship to an undergraduate student majoring in: -Civil engineering with an interest or core curriculum in general civil, structural, water resources, or environmental areas, and/or -Electrical engineering students with an interest of core curriculum in general electrical or power systems areas, and/or -Mechanical engineering students with an interest or core curriculum in general mechanical or energy areas. AND -At least one academic year to complete before graduation, -US citizenship or permanent legal right to work in the U.S, -Grade point average of 2.7 or above overall or within their major. -Preference to students who are a member of one of the following student groups: AISES (American Indian Science & Engineering Society), NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), PIE (Pilipinos in Engineering), SOLES (Society of Latino Engineers & Scientists), SWE (Society of Women Engineers) or are working in other ways to build communities that support diversity in engineering.
