The Mitchell Family Scholarship was established in February 2019 by William E. and Jan Mitchell was established to award undergraduate scholarships to students who have matriculated from Menlo School in Atherton, CA under the administration of the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office. Should in a given year students not be identified from Menlo School, the Mitchell Family Scholarship shall award the following three individual scholarships in substitution order: 1. The Mitchell Family STEM Scholarship to provide merit based scholarships to UCLA undergraduate students pursuing a degree in the STEM disciplines-science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. A new student will be awarded $4,000 annually for a 4 year course study. 2. The Mitchell Family Study Abroad Scholarship to provide a scholarship to support a UCLA undergraduate student who is studying abroad in a Study Abroad Program approved by UCLA. UCLA Financial Aid Office will partner with the UCLA Study Abroad Program. A new student will be awarded a onetime scholarship of $4,000 annually while abroad. 3. The Mitchell Family TFT Scholarship to provide a merit-based scholarship to a UCLA undergraduate student studying in the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. A new student will be awarded $4,000 annually for a 4 year course study. It is the donors’ preference for the alternative scholarships listed above that the students meet one or more of the following criteria: a. From Northern California b. Come from a middle-income household as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships Office. c. Female d. Underrepresented minority
