The Cal Alumni Association Native American Scholarship (CAANAS) is a one-year award that recognizes Native American students at UC Berkeley for leadership, community involvement, as well as their contribution to the Indigenous community. This scholarship is available to all Native American students at Cal including incoming first year and junior transfer students. The Native American Scholarship is offered to make a UC Berkeley education more affordable for Native American students. Qualifications: Students must be enrolled at UC Berkeley (First years, sophomores, juniors, junior transfers, and seniors are eligible) Must be enrolled in Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 Students must Identify as American Indian or Native American to qualify. The descendants of the peoples living within what is now the continental contiguous United States prior to European contact.
