John M. Childs Endowed Scholarship for RecSports Student Intramural Sports Officials
William R. (Bill) Childs established the John M. Childs Endowed Scholarship in memory of his younger brother, who played intramurals as an Alpha Phi Omega (APO) member. Like Bill, John also officiated intramural games and was recognized as an Honorable Mention for the Outstanding Official Award. To honor the brothers' time with RecSports, this scholarship will be awarded to a student employee who works as an intramural official for the Department and has a passion for recreational sports. Current employment in good standing as a student employee at RecSports during the Spring 2025 term. 3. A minimum of three complete terms of employment at RecSports, the Spring 2025 term may count toward this requirement if you are employed the entire term. These terms do not need to be consecutive, and summer terms count if you worked the entire summer. Please note that your work history will be verified should you become a finalist. 4. Scholarship will be awarded to a student employee who works as an intramural official for the Department and has a passion for recreational sports. 5.
