Darrell D. Rocha Scholarship in Communication
The Darrell D. Rocha Scholarship was created to award scholarships to incoming freshmen who, as high school students, have been admitted to the Moody College of Communication. Preference shall be given, to the extent possible, to applicants who: have qualified for financial need awards, based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid; have demonstrated excellence in leadership and community service or are determined to have the potential to do so while at UT Austin, as evidenced by the COMraderie essay; have a minimum college GPA of 2.5 if being considered for the scholarship as a continuing student; are Texas residents, including those students who graduated from a Texas high school but are classified as non-citizens; are first-generation college students; or have experienced socioeconomic adversity, in addition to demonstrating financial need, as expressed in the "financial need essay."
