Kamoinge-Ferman Scholarship
for continuing undergraduate students The Kamoinge-Ferman Scholarship was established to provide tuition funds to help defray the additional costs of travel associated with African/African America Studies/African Diaspora research projects. Preference will be given to those traveling internationally but awards also apply to those traveling within the United States. The Kamoinge-Ferman Scholarship is open to: -Full-time students who plan to participate in an approved research project offered through the Humanities, History, and Social Sciences Department -Students who complete a minimum of 15 credit hours at Columbia by the end of the Fall semester -Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher -Students able to submit an essay on the life and culture of an African American who lived a life committed to international understanding, solidarity, and/or travel -Students who demonstrate financial need through a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarship amount: Maximum of $1,500
