Welcome to WashU's Net Price Calculator
WashU is committed to making sure a college education is within reach for all our students. We meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted full-time students, and we offer several initiatives that provide students the resources they need to engage fully in academic and campus life. We also have a need-blind admissions process for all first-year applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents—that means your ability to pay tuition is not considered in the admission decision process.
Our Net Price Calculator is designed to give you an early estimate of the financial assistance award and scholarships you might qualify for at WashU as a first-year domestic admitted student. We then take these numbers and subtract them from the total cost of attendance, so you can see your expected family contribution. Our goal is to provide a clearer picture of how affordable WashU can be, helping you to make more informed choices during your college search process.
Even if you’re not going to college in the near future, the Net Price Calculator is still helpful. Younger students and their families can use this tool to learn about college costs and create “what if” scenarios based on expected family income and anticipated expenses.
Please remember that this Net Price Calculator only offers an estimate. Our Student Financial Services office is here to help you every step of the way and will be happy to answer any questions you may have, or to talk about your family’s financial situation. Reach out to us at financial@wustl.edu or 314-935-5900.
Completing the Net Price Calculator should take no more than 20 minutes of your time. You will need to answer some basic questions about your income as well as your parents’ financial situation, so it will be helpful to have recent tax forms or pay stubs on hand before you begin.
As you use the calculator, please remember:
-
This is not an application for admission or financial assistance—it is only an estimate of your net price and assistance eligibility. All applicants for financial assistance at Washington University must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile by the appropriate deadline. For full details about our financial assistance application process, visit financial@wustl.edu.
-
The results will only be as reliable as the data you provide.
-
If your parents are separated, divorced, or never married and not living together, you will need to complete the Net Price Calculator twice, one for each parent's household, to best understand your total net price.
-
When you are asked about the number of siblings planning to attend college while you are enrolled, please answer thinking only about your first year. We need an accurate number of how many dependents in your family will be enrolled in college in year one of your time at WashU.
-
If you are an international student, or have foreign income, this calculator may not provide you with accurate results.
